Iran got better conditions than expected. It did not win the war.

The purpose of this piece is to propose a mental model to understand why Iran achieved more favorable conditions than expected, in light of an extensive US attack. It is analyzed through the lens of the Iterated Prisoner’s Dilemma (IPD) framework applied in a tournament held by Robert Axelrod. To conclude, some forward-looking implications are provided.
